Idea file: shut-away study area hides the mess

We all need somewhere to store a computer and file away bills. But accommodating a working desk stylishly into your home can be tricky.

How about hiding away a desk inside a built-in wardrobe? This handy study area was pulled together very simply by using a piece of laminated chipboard to make a desk. Cheap and effective. In fact free in this case, as the chipboard is an old flatpack wardrobe door that was destined for the bin.

And if the desk gets a little untidy? Well you can always shut the door on the mess!

Now you see it
